- SCP-3383 is a small lake in Florida that makes loud, irritating dial-up modem-like noises whenever a man-made object is put into it, which only people nearby can hear and lasts for at least 20 minutes or until the object is removed. These noises are not blocked by ear protection and are not picked up by electronic devices, but hard-of-hearing individuals instead feel vibrations. The area around the lake is contained by a special organization, with agents posing as residents to keep unauthorized people away. It is believed that a large, antlered, serpentine creature lives in the lake, and it seems to have a connection with injured deer and the Muscogee language, as speaking it near the lake caused injured deer to appear and be healed by drinking the lake water.

- The mutilation of "Snippy" the horse, also known as Lady, was a widely reported incident in 1967 where an Appaloosa mare was found dead and dismembered on a Colorado ranch. Initial sensationalized press coverage attributed the mysterious death, characterized by clean cuts, an absence of blood, and unusual marks on the ground, to flying saucers or other unknown phenomena. However, mainstream experts and subsequent investigations, including one by the Condon Committee, concluded that the death was due to natural causes, with two students later confessing to shooting the horse. Despite the official findings, the case fueled folklore linking animal mutilations to extraterrestrial beings and remains a part of a UFO tourism attraction.
