Description
pyFAI is now adding the parallax corrections.
We should follow the trend. At id4b (QM2), CHESS the parallax effect and its related peak broadening is visible when the detector is operated at high photon energies.
I guess the same applies to ID31, when the detector is placed close to the sample and scattering angles are large (> 15 deg). But I haven't checked this. - since the quantum efficiency only drops off above 80 keV, this might not be such a big problem with a CdTe sensor than with Si sensor at E>20 keV.
What we would need to do is to solve the inverse parallax correction (which should just be a sin(alpha) ) and correct 2theta by the offset.
Parallax effect was added to pyFAI in v2025.12.
