My classroom is having problems with the SAM Root App constantly glitching. Both Root, and our IPads are fully charged, and updated. The blutooth is also on, and connected.

Some of the glitches include:
-Problems renaming projects
-Opening the blutooth option to connect to Root while in a project (it will glitch and not stay open long enough to connect)
-Glitches clicking between coding levels, and coding catagories (events, commands, setters, flow control, math, logic)

These glitches make it extremely hard to code with our students. I am wondering if it is an application problem that needs to be resolved by an update, or something else.

2. When you mention the bluetooth problem, is the project running, or is it stopped?

Device Model: IPAD 10th Generation
IOS Version: IPadOS 26.3

1. When we are in the project and click to rename it, it opens for a half second then glitches and goes away.
2. The project is not running when trying to connect. I click the bluetooth icon, it opens for a half second (similarly to renaming the project) and then it closes out right away making it impossible to select a Root to connect to.
3. When we click a subcatagory to switch, such as "events" to "setters," the whole thing glitches and goes blank. Just looks like there is just a box with no words.

This was a bug that we caught with the initial release of iOS 26. Can you verify that your SAM Root app has been updated? The most current version is 3.1.0. You can check this by going to the App Store —> SAM Root, then under What's New, it will state the app version number, that lastest release was 1 day ago (version 3.1.0).

We are having issues with the app. We are using the most updated version and our ios is 26.2. Once we connect the root to the app the command blocks do not stay in the work space. They just click right back to the menu. It is super frustrating and isn't allowing us to use our roots.

@eadams559 Thanks for reporting. Please allow us time to investigate the issue. In the meantime, can you confirm the most up-to-date version of the app you are using is 3.1.0?

Yes, we are using version 3.1.0.

@eadams559 We have identified the issue. We are currently in the works of pushing a fix. There is a small waiting period while the new deployment gets reviewed by Apple so it should be live no later than in 48 hours.

In the meantime:

1. If you'd like to test the fix on your iPad, we'd be happy to add an email to our test flight list.
2. There is a workaround, The issue inherently lies with the simulator, for a workaround please do not touch the sim opening/closing mechanism and the blocks will remain intact. If this does happen, the progress is not lost, please close the app fully and re-open the same project and it should appear.
